Etele Plaza named “Best of the Best Retail Development” at the HOF Awards
Etele Plaza received a HOF Award in the category “Best of the Best Retail Development”, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.
The HOF Awards attract leading real estate industry players from across the CEE region. The Best of the Best Hall of Fame Awards serve as the slimax of the CIJ Awards series, pitting the region’s winning projects and companies against each other to determine who the “Best of the Best” are. This year’s event featured entries from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia. A select group of area real estate leaders voted as a jury in combination with votes from CIJ readers.
Etele Plaza, opened its doors last September in Kelenföld, Budapest. The mall’s main entrance welcomes visitors with Hungary’s largest curtain wall structure above the main entrance. The interiors, including fashionable hallways, an elegant lobby, attractive decor and a carefully designed food court directly connected to the green-roofed terraces represent the latest generation of shopping mall design in Hungary. In addition to shopping, the square offers a wide range of food outlets, restaurants, cafes, fitness facilities, a children’s playground and a cinema.
Hungary’s first smart place seeks to provide a personalized shopping experience to customers through its proprietary mobile app and cloud-based services. Etele Plaza helps visitors find their way around and find the ideal parking space, and leads them to selected shops while offering tailor-made offers for each customer. Several benches with USB ports are available in the mall, while at the information point, a Hungarian-speaking Pepper robot will guide customers on their way.
The square also introduced the public to Ariadné, a revolutionary Hungarian invention to help the blind and visually impaired, developed by engineers from Óbuda University.
“Etele Plaza has been recognized many times by the international real estate industry, but competing against the best and winning is always an amazing moment. We are truly honored to receive this prestigious award. At Futureal, one of our priorities continues to be to create value in the commercial real estate sector and to implement exemplary projects such as Etele Plaza, the first smart square in Hungary,” said Márk Balástyai, project manager of Etele Plaza.
