Home sales in Hungary rose 69% year-on-year to 14,198 in May, MTI reports, citing an estimate from listed real estate broker Duna House.
Home sales in January-May were up 42% year-over-year to 69,093.
Duna House said second-quarter home sales are unlikely to exceed first-quarter sales, but could reach 38,000 to 40,000.
Duna House estimates that mortgage spending amounted to HUF 102 billion to 107 billion in May, compared to HUF 92 to 93 billion in April.
The share of mortgages related to subsidized home renovations was almost 10% of the total, Duna House added.
