Hungary home sales fall 6% year-on-year in October

Home sales in Hungary fell 6% year-on-year to 11,526 in October, MTI reports, citing an estimate from listed real estate broker Duna House.
Home sales for the January-October period increased 17% year-on-year to 128,530, Duna House said.
The real estate broker estimates that the number of full-year transactions will exceed 150,000.
Duna House estimated that spending on residential mortgages reached HUF 107 billion in October and said spending for the whole year would hit a new record, supported by the National Bank of Hungary’s Green Home program. (MNB).
As part of the Green Home Program, the central bank refinances at 0% lenders for loans to individuals of new housing with a primary energy consumption threshold of 90 kWh / m² per year. Interest rates on loans are capped at 2.5%.
