Hungary sells HUF 30 billion of green bonds

Hungary sold 30 billion HUF of 30-year green bonds at auction last week, increasing its initial supply by 10 billion HUF in the event of strong demand, according to data from the Management Agency’s website. public debt (GovernmentKK).
Primary traders’ bids for the bond reached HUF 46.3 billion. The average yield was 3.44%.
The benchmark yield of Hungary’s longest ‘conventional’ forint, a 20-year security, was 3.38% yesterday. Hungary launched the Green Bond at an auction on April 22, Earth Day, and sells the securities quarterly. ÁKK expects annual emissions to reach HUF 90 billion.
ÁKK also sold HUF 9 billion of a 12-month treasury bill at auction yesterday, reducing its initial bid by HUF 11 billion after bids reached just HUF 20.6 billion. The average return was 0.96%, 16 basis points above the benchmark.
