MET Group is expected to become the first to install a Megapack battery in Hungary next summer, as part of the innovation project implemented at the Dunamenti gas-fired power plant, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.
Like the MET Group, energy players are reporting increasingly ambitious sustainability measures around the world, and power plants producing renewable energy are being installed at an increasing rate. fast. As production is weather dependent and therefore unpredictable, equipment that offers flexibility and energy saving solutions plays a key role in balancing supply and demand.
The Megapack of almost 4 MW (maximum performance) and 8 MWh (storage capacity) Tesla has a duration of two hours. As a result, this offers the possibility of a more efficient integration of the system of renewable energy producers.
The contracted investment project will be one of the key elements of the MET Groups R&D project launched in April 2021, notes the press release. The experimental project, based on energy storage, will be a prototype for applications in industrial quantities.
