The municipal government of Pécs (about 170 km southwest of Budapest) offers to sell to local young people who intend to stay in the city or who wish to return plots belonging to the municipality at reduced prices, according to a report from the MTI state news feed.
Local council asset management company PVH said the land is offered to people with connections to the city between the ages of 18 and 40 on the condition that they build houses on the land within three years.
Applications for the purchase of plots can be submitted until the end of November. The buyers will be selected by a committee made up of representatives of the city council, the University of Pécs, the Baranya County Vocational Training Center, the student government of the University of Pécs and PVH.
Applicants eligible for tax benefits for families with children and those with a university degree or vocational training will receive favorable treatment during the assessment.
